But if you press ^N (Next command) key now then you go to “DIR” command
 


3.19 Environment file

When exit VTfm creates environment file SYS$LOGIN:ENVIRONMENT.DAT for storing the following information:

  • directory panels orientation (left/right or top/bottom);
  • current directory panel (left/right/top/bottom);
  • file size measure (blocks or bytes);
  • disk device and directory specification (for each panel);
  • filtering wildcard mask (for each panel);
  • selection wildcard mask (for each panel);
  • current file bar position (for each panel).

So, when you run VTfm again your last working environment will be restored! Don’t edit file SYS$LOGIN:ENVIRONMENT.DAT! But if any problems with this file simply delete it.
